Amazon Air expands network
Greater Los Angeles San Bernardino airport (SBD), which claims doing its "part to help industry friends through the crisis," has welcomed Amazon Air at its latest aviation tenant, joining over 75 other companies operating at the airport.
Sarah Rhoads, VP, Amazon Global Air: "Our new regional air hub at SBD allows us to better deliver on our commitment of fast, free shipping for our customers. It is being built from the ground up to fit our operational needs, including the use of solar power and electric ground support equipment. We look forward to opening the facility in 2021."
In the meantime, Sun County Airlines has begun operating aircraft on behalf of the Amazon Air network. The first of ten planes, a B737-800BCF, took flight at Cincinnati airport. The hub officially opens in 2021. (ah)
