Along the trans-Caspian route
LX Pantos is working with a major Kazakhstani logistics player to advance freight services along the trans-Caspian international transport route.
Founded in Kazakhstan in 2022, PTC Group now operates the largest rail vehicle fleet in Central Asia. To boost logistics infrastructures and capacities in the region, it has signed an MOU with LX Pantos, which will entail collaboration on freight transport and cargo export.
The trans-Caspian route connects shippers to Central Asia via Europe and vice-versa. This project has been backed by Kazakhstan as well as Azerbaijan and Georgia and offers an alternative to the trans-China or trans-Siberian railways.
Earlier this month, LX Pantos’ CEO, Lee Yong-ho, met with Kazakhstan’s transport minister, Marat Karabaev, in the country’s capital to discuss the initiative. (mk)
