Alitalia to return to South America next month
After suspending these services in March and April this year, Alitalia will resume its weekly scheduled flights to Argentina and Brazil in mid-December.
The services from Rome FCO to São Paulo GRU, which are set to begin on 15 December, and those to Buenos Aires, which will start four days later, will be operated with B777-200ER, with a co-loading capacity for 20 t of cargo. Besides New York, the South American megacities are Alitalia's only destinations for aircraft with additional cargo capacities in the Americas.
In addition, the airline will continue to operate a regular charter flight from Milan-MXP to JFK to Christmas at least. The two round trips per weekend are used exclusively for cargo-only flights, with a loading capacity of up to 68 t. (ah)
