Albacore and Danica team up in the Baltics
The crewing company Danica Maritime has opened a new office in Riga, Latvia, for activities all over the Baltic countries. Announcing the opening, Danica managing director Henrik Jensen said: “These countries boast large pools of highly competent and very experienced chemical, product and gas tanker officers. The area hosts as many as 30,000 seafarers.”
The office in Riga is a joint venture with Albacore Maritime Services in Estonia and Albacore founder Peter Jarvsoo will be heading the office. Previously, he held senior positions with EMS (Eitzen), Wallem, Thome and Golar LNG.
Plans for the Riga office began earlier this year but were temporarily put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic. About 70 officers have already been recruited. (mw)
