Airline industry association welcomes new member
DHL Aero Expreso has joined the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (Alta). José Ricardo Botelho, Alta's executive director and CEO: "We have a cargo working group that started meetings in 2021 and is gaining more and more strength to meet the needs of this segment. DHL will undoubtedly be a great contribution."
The cargo carrier began operations in 1996 in Panama City and has since expanded its Boeing-only operations with the DHL Express division in the Americas. It is increasing its airfreight capacity to meet a growing demand for shipments, mainly from the e-commerce sector.
DHL Aero Expreso recently opened a Panama - Miami - Santiago route, as well as the new Miami - Viracopos route, which benefits customers who ship between Asia, North America, and Brazil.
