Airbus: standstill in China, departure from Wales
Airbus China is observing Chinese Government requirements for staff to work from home and is helping with IT equipment so that employees from all locations including Tianjin do not need to travel to work where possible.
With regards to the business impact, China domestic and worldwide travel restrictions pose some logistical challenges. The A320 final assembly line facility is currently closed.
Meanwhile, today, 7 February 2020, the last A380 wing leaves the manufacturing hall on the Airbus site in Broughton in Wales (UK). 17 years after the completion of the first wing, this final component will arrive at the inland port of Mostyn after a two-hour truck ride.
It will be reunited with its counterpart, which was brought here yesterday, and loaded onto a ship for the next leg of the journey. The last A380 will be handed over to Emirates at the beginning of 2021. (ah)
