Air New Zealand back in Japan and China
From today, 25 June 2020, Air New Zealand is operating the Auckland-Tokyo NRT route again, initially on a one return service basis per week, which had been interrupted on 30 March. Pre-Covid-19, the carrier operated up to 10 services per week on Auckland-Narita.
Suspended since early February, the formerly daily Shanghai PVG service has resumed this week on a weekly basis. General manager networks Scott Carr: "Shanghai was the first route to be impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic and government travel restrictions. While we have been operating some dedicated cargo flights between Auckland and Shanghai, it's great to be able to now open these services up for passengers to book."
Both routes are served with B787-9, offering 50.6 t of bellyhold capacity. (ah)
