Air Canada opens export acceptance at YYZ cold chain facility
Air Canada Cargo’s state-of-the-art cold chain facility at Vancouver airport (YVZ) will launch its new export acceptance area today, 19 September 2022.
With almost 2,800 sqm of end-to-end temperature-controlled shipping and storage, the upgrades include: An x-ray machine that allows AC Absolute, AC Pharmacair, and AC Fresh shipments to be screened and accepted directly into the facility, dedicated sections for COL shipments (+2°C to +8°C) and CRT shipments (+15°C to +25°C) with an area in the warehouse reserved for active temperature control units, racking capability up to 15 m feet high, two floor scales to weigh cargo within temperature-controlled area and dedicated doors within the truck area.
Fully dedicated to handling pharmaceuticals and other temperature sensitive shipments, the facility will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Air Canada Cargo is a Ceiv Pharma certified carrier. (cj)
