Air Atlanta Icelandic changes management
Several organisational changes were implemented at Air Atlanta Icelandic at the beginning of 2019. Hannes Hilmarsson, Air Atlanta’s CEO since 2006, assumed the new role of executive chairman of Air Atlanta Icelandic and managing director of Air Atlanta’s sister company, Northern Lights Leasing.
As a result, Baldvin M. Hermannsson became CEO of Air Atlanta Icelandic. He joined the carrier in 2001, and since held various positions within the company and oversaw an array of projects in Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle-East.
Unndór Jónsson took on the role of vice-president sales & marketing. Jónsson held various flight operations posts at Air Atlanta from 1996 to 2007, and re-joined the company as director travel in 2018. He was employed by other airlines such as Avion Express and Wow Air, and spent part of his career with Saga Capital Investment Bank. (mw)
