AI-powered operations set to launch at DGT
Software developer Inform is equipping the Duisburg Gateway Terminal (DGT) with its AI-driven intermodal terminal operating system (TOS) to ensure efficiency when the terminal comes on stream in summer 2024.
Poised to become Europe's largest intermodal terminal with a target of 850,000 teu annually, DGT is designed to minimise environmental impact by operating without fossil fuels. It will handle up to 1 million containers yearly with its six cranes and twelve rail tracks.
Informs' TOS will enable automation and optimisation in areas such as barge handling, crane operations, train loading, and container stacking, with the integration of billing modules and booking platforms. (pb)
