AI and the future of supply chains
The CTO of Raft, an intelligent logistics platform, shared his thoughts on AI in logistics at last month’s Wesccon, a gathering of freight forwarders, NVOCC's and customs brokers organised by the Pacific Coast Council. In his speech, Nisarg Mehta described the use of AI as an everyday companion to boost productivity.
Raft is a platform that uses human and artificial intelligence to help forwarders navigate supply chains. While there is growing excitement around AI, Mehta highlighted the need to distinguish between its potential and expectations. “Put simply, one of the greatest values of AI is gained from its ability to amplify human capabilities," he said.
Mehta also joined a panel discussion on AI's impact on logistics. “Technology providers are pivotal in transforming AI from an abstract concept to an invaluable asset that paves the way for efficient, resilient, and sustainable supply chains,” said Eduardo Acosta, president, Pacific Coast Council.
