Agility becomes DSV Panalpina
After acquiring the Inkas Group of companies in 2021, UTI Worldwide in 2015 and Switzerland-based Panalpina in 2018, Danish transport and logistics company DSV is taking over Agility Global Integrated Logistics (GIL). The transaction is valued at USD 4.2 billion (DKK 26 billion).
In 2020, Agility generated USD 4 billion in revenue, mainly related to air & sea freight. It has a workforce of approximately 17,000 employees. Especially the air & sea division, DSV Panalpina’s largest unit, will be substantially strengthened with this latest acquisition, since GIL handles close to 2.8 million teu and transports more than 1.6 million t of air freight per year. Warehousing capacities of more than 1.4 million sqm, mainly in APAC and the Middle East, will also change hands.
DSV Panalpina and GIL expect to close the transaction in Q3/2021, provided conditions are met and the regulatory approvals are obtained. (sh)
