AD Ports to revamp Angola's Luanda port terminal
AD Ports Group has acquired a 20-year concession, extendable for an additional ten years, to operate and upgrade the Luanda multipurpose port terminal in Angola.
Through partnerships with Unicargas and Multiparques, AD Ports Group aims to modernise the terminal and enhance logistics services with a USD 251 million investment over the next three years, potentially rising to USD 379 million.
The port of Luanda is an important hub for regional trade with a significant influence on Angola's economy and provides access to landlocked nations.
The upgrade will expand the terminal area, enhance equipment, and modernise IT systems to increase container and ro-ro handling capacities. Additionally, a joint venture will offer integrated logistics and freight forwarding services to improve efficiency and connectivity in the region. (pb)
