AD Ports investing in Jordan
Represented by its digital arm Maqta Gateway, AD Ports Group has signed a shareholders' agreement with the Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC) for the joint venture, Maqta Ayla.
This partnership, with Maqta Gateway holding a 51% stake and ADC 49%, aims to further digitalise Jordan's maritime sector. The project focuses on implementing a port community system (PCS) at Aqaba’s ports to streamline port operations.
The agreement is part of wider efforts to boost Aqaba’s role in tourism, logistics, and transport, promoting it as a regional destination and driving economic growth. It will also expand digital solutions in the maritime sector and strengthen economic ties between Jordan and the UAE. (pb)
