Ad-hoc transports with a fixed timetable
Trans-Flex is the name of ÖBB Rail Cargo Group's (RCG) new railfreight service. Officially launched with a locomotive christening ceremony, the new product offers more flexibility in terms of timing, quantity and relation.
This enables uncomplicated ad-hoc transport and multimodal solutions including truck pre- and on-carriage and value-added services, even on regular connections with a fixed timetable, RCG said.
RCG started the pilot project in Germany in September 2022 using two locomotives. Now there are 15 locomotives in this service. Last year, they transported 2.45 million t of goods on 1.28 million rail km within Germany and across the border to Austria. (ben)
