ACL launches faster Ireland–North America route
Atlantic Container Line (ACL) has introduced a new, expedited service linking Ireland with North America. In partnership with BG Freight Line (BGFL) and Peel Ports, the service will enhance connections from Belfast and Dublin to Liverpool, ensuring faster transit times and increased reliability for transatlantic shipping.
The inaugural journeys include the “Atlantic Sun” from New York to Dublin and Belfast, and the “JSP Anna” from Belfast and Dublin to North America. This route benefits from Liverpool’s proximity to Ireland compared to continental ports, which significantly reduces travel times.
The coordination between ACL and BGFL optimises connection times in Liverpool, promising more efficient schedules. The new service will offer the quickest transatlantic shipping option for Ireland, potentially saving over a week on typical transit times, the partners said. (pb)
