A twin operation in India
Röhlig Logistics is opening two offices in India at the same time. The sales offices in Ludhiana, Punjab and Bhubaneswar, Odisha, have now come on stream.
Röhlig has identified India as one of the fastest-growing economies worldwide, being the target of many global players who have been shifting their production to the subcontinent in recent years. With the world’s second largest population and the majority of its 1.4 billion people being of working age, the South Asian country boasts a strong workforce that can meet the increasing demand.
Madhumita Tripathi, managing director at Röhlig India, commented on the new locations: "Both of these cities are rapidly developing industrial hubs which offer enormous economic potential.”
Ludhiana is a major location for the production of clothing, household appliances, machine components as well as auto and bicycle parts, while Bhubaneswar is a largely untouched market. Its regional hub is the capital of Odisha, which is among the Indian states with the highest export growth this year. Röhlig Logistics now has ten operating branches and four sales offices in India.
