A system for innovative projects
The port of Barcelona has launched a new system to coordinate and implement projects that are reshaping its portfolio.
Damià Calvet, the gateway’s president, and Emma Cobos, its director of innovation and business strategy, jointly presented the strategy, which defines three main objectives: strengthening the port’s role as a driver of economic growth and recovery; driving innovation and the digitalisation of the logistics system; and fostering synergies with the city in this field.
Calvet said that innovation will take place in diverse fields, including logistics activities; networks and inland terminals (Zaragoza Maritime Terminal); a ‘port-city’ (Port Vell); the participation of the port community (steering council of the port community of Barcelona, Telematic Forum); training (European School of Intermodal Transport); and telematics (Portic).
