A sustainable hub in Stockholm
A new distribution hub in Stockholm is set to provide the logistics provider Danx with a strategic base to increase its cargo volume while simultaneously reducing its carbon footprint. The company is relocating to the new facility, which is 60% larger than the previous one, to meet growing capacity demands.
Situated near major highways as well as the Förbifart Stockholm bypass, the site at Kungens Kurva offers connections to Sweden’s capital region. Other than cargo handling, it also enables pick-up and drop-off operations, allowing for field stocking.
To minimise emissions at the site, Danx will use a district heating network for clean heat and has added chargers for EVs. It is also looking to invest in biofuels to further develop a green fleet. Danx and its subsidiary TLS are expected to leave the old terminal and settle into the new site by the end of this year. (mk)
