A strong 2021 for J.B. Hunt
The USA-based group J.B. Hunt has reported its figures for 2021. Revenue grew by significant 26%, amounting to USD 12.17 billion, while operating income increased by 47% to almost USD 1.05 billion.
All segments contributed to the revenue growth versus the prior year period. Truckload (JBT) and integrated capacity solutions (ICS) revenue surged by 85% and 26.0% year over year, respectively.
Intermodal (JBI) revenue grew 26%, driven by a 30% increase in revenue per load, partially offset by a 3% decline in volumes. Dedicated contract services (DCS) revenue grew by 25% as a result of a 16% increase in average revenue producing trucks and a 7% increase in fleet productivity versus the same period last year.
Last mile services (FMS) revenue increased by 4% as strong demand for services in the segment were offset by supply-chain related challenges in most of the primary markets served. (sh)
