A step forward in Singapore's cold chain
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) and a local subsidiary of the Kajima Corporation have formed a JV to develop a new refrigerated warehouse Western Singapore and enhance the cold chain offering in the area.
The site in Jurong will have a floor area of 19,000 sqm with five floors of temperature-controlled spaces ranging from ambient to chilled and frozen. It will also feature a 45 m high automatic storage and retrieval system, which will make it the tallest industrial refrigerator in Asia.
Commonwealth Capital was part of the initial project launch and one of its joint ventures with a local food logistics company is the anchor tenant. Thanks to its location near the Jurong Fishery Port, the hub has quick access to food manufacturing industries and major highways. It is set for completion by the end of 2025. (mk)
