A smart way to a green truck fleet
The logistics consultancy Green Logistics Enabler (GLE) in Germany is launching a new business model for sustainable fleet management.
The aim is to support freight forwarders and industrial companies with their own truck fleets in converting their classic truck fleets to green energy sources and alternative truck drives such as electric, biogas and hydrogen.
The focus is primarily on distribution logistics for regional transport networks and city logistics, GLE says. The strategy is based on a three-phase plan: It consists of an inventory and needs assessment of the vehicle fleet, the development of sustainable transport solutions in cooperation with the freight forwarder and finally the conversion of the vehicle fleet in line with an optimisation of the transport routes.
