A royal inauguration

The Netherlands-based logistics provider Newcold has opened its newest cold chain hub in Georgia, USA, in the presence of Dutch royalty. Backed by USD 333 million, this site marks the company’s debut into dry goods warehousing on the North American continent.

Featuring 85,000 pallet positions, the high-bay facility will enable the logistics provider to extend its cold chain operations in the region. It focuses on automation and a 24/7 service, aiming to support the local frozen food sector.

The Dutch king and queen toured the hub and formally inaugurated the facility as part of their working visit to the USA. The Netherlands remains an important trading partner for Georgia, as the country supports 35,000 jobs in the state. Plans have already been made to extend this warehouse. (mk)
