A partnership to further shipping science
Ocean Network Express (ONE) has partnered with the University of Tokyo's school of engineering to launch the social cooperation programme "container management science" which began in April 2024.
The initiative aims to tackle the complex challenges of the modern container shipping industry through interdisciplinary collaboration. It will unite experts from various fields to foster sustainable and innovative solutions for container shipping.
The collaboration addresses issues such as supply chain resilience, operational efficiency, environmental impact, and ESG management. Running until March 2027, the programme also aims to nurture future talent for the maritime industry. Led by professors Kazuhiro Aoyama and Tomoya Kawasaki, its dedicated website will launch in July 2024. (pb)
