A new project for Kansas City

The cold storage warehouse is backed by a USD 127 million investment by Americold, which is seeking to expand its presence in Kansas City with the help of CPKC’s network.

“Combining our cold storage capabilities with CPKC’s extensive rail network enables Americold to deliver a differentiated offering to support more customers across North America,” says George Chappelle, CEO, Americold.

Goods will be transported to and from the facility via CPKC’s local intermodal service, which is North America's only single-line rail service offering for refrigerated shippers between US Midwest markets and Mexico. After the necessary approvals are attained, construction can begin in H2/2024. The hub is expected to create 190 jobs in the region. (mk)
