A new hub for shipbuilding?
The International Maritime Industries (IMI), a joint venture between Saudi Aramco, Lamprell, Bahri and Hyundai Heavy Industries, and Columbia Shipmanagement (CSM) are widening the scope of their partnership.
CSM’s maritime service portfolio, engineering expertise and network of clients and partners will help support IMI’s ongoing development in shipbuilding, ship repair and engineering.
Abdullah Al Ahmari, CEO of IMI, spoke of the advantages of the cooperation "supporting our efforts of building a world-class, technologically advanced shipyard that will drive the development of the maritime industry in Saudi Arabia." Starting from its base in the Middle East, IMI aims to become a global centre for shipbuilding.
