A new head for the Kühne Foundation

Jörg Dräger, a former minister for science and research in the senate of the German state of Hamburg, is set to be appointed executive director of the board of trustees of the Kühne Foundation in Schindellegi (Switzerland) on 1 April 2022.

Dräger, who’s been a member of the foundation's board of trustees since 2008, was previously a board member of the Bertelsmann Foundation and the managing director of the CHE Centre for Higher Education Development. He’ll end that tenure at the end of December 2021.

The Kühne Foundation is a Swiss institution with a global orientation. Its programme focuses on education and research in logistics, medical research and therapy, support for cultural activities and on a liberal economic order. Special attention will now be given to expanding the Kühne Logistics University in Hamburg, which was founded in 2010 and now has 25 professors and 400 students.  In this context, it is planning to increase its international reach in the field of logistics science. The Kühne Foundation’s medical programmes – research, education and therapy in allergology and cardiology – are concentrated on Davos (Switzerland). (cd)
