A new chair for Railcom
At the request of the ministry of transport (Detec), the Swiss government appointed Barbara Furrer, Hedingen, as the new chair of the rail transport commission “Railcom” on 27 August 2024. She replaces Patrizia Danioth Halter, Altdorf, who led the commission with great commitment for twelve years.
Railcom is a Swiss regulatory authority that ensures non-discriminatory access to the railway network, to transhipment facilities for combined transport and sidings co-financed by the federal government, as well as to local delivery services for goods by rail. As an independent, market-orientated authority commission, Railcom oversees and supports efficient and fair framework conditions for the railway market. (cj)
