A new battle front for Embraer
Strongly contested by Embraer, Boeing has terminated its master transaction agreement (MTA) with the Brazilian airframe manufacturer, under which the two companies sought to establish a new level of strategic partnership. The parties had planned to create a joint venture comprising Embraer's commercial aviation business and a second joint venture to develop new markets for the C-390 Millennium medium airlift and air mobility aircraft.
The new aircraft, delivered since September last year to the Brazilian Air Force, which has speeded up the training of its crews, is already being used to carry out logistical air transport in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic in the South American country, especially connecting Rio de Janeiro, Guarulhos, Manaus, Belém, Natal, Canoas and Santa Maria.
