A machine to unload bags of coffee
Tramar, a coffee warehousing company based in Le Havre (France), will soon use a machine from Copal to unload its bags of coffee beans from the containers. Thus, the company will automate its processes for the receipt of goods and protect the health of its employees.
Copal’s system is equipped with a 3D vision camera, laser sensors and a specialised software programme that recognises the content of the container at first glance. The products are unloaded from the container with a special gripper and put on a loading belt. The goods are then transported by means of a telescopic belt to the back end of the Copal machine, after which they are stored in the warehouse or moved on to another location.
In Le Havre, Tramar operates a 12,000 sqm coffee warehouse that can store up to 160,000 bags of coffee beans. The facility handles about 50,000 t of coffee per year. (mw)
