A large benefit for Czech rail sector
Czechia will celebrate the twentieth anniversary of its accession to the EU on 5 May 2024. These 20 years of EU membership have been an engine of growth for the Czech railway industry, generating revenues in the hundreds of billions of Czech crowns (hundreds of millions of euros) for the businesses that form the Czech Railway Industry Association (Acri).
Since 2004, companies like Skoda, Bonatrans, Borcad, AZD Praha and ZKL have been able to triple their turnovers in the markets of the EU and the European Economic Area. EU membership is also increasing the pace of innovation and the implementation of new production technologies, Acri said. (ben)
