A distribution hub at Lyon airport
Panattoni is working with Lyon airport on a new multimodal parcel dock to be developed on a site measuring 7,300 sqm in the Cargoport zone, France’s second-largest freight hub after Paris.
This will be Panattoni’s debut in the Rhône-Alpes region as the company looks to benefit from the strategic location between Lyon, Paris, and Marseille. The site offers direct connection to incoming airfreight and easy access to road networks and public transport.
To keep in line with sustainability standards, Panattoni is fitting the hub with solar panels and energy-efficient design. There will also be a yard for semi-trailers and another for city utility vehicles.
Construction is set to begin at the end of this year, with completion planned for Q4/ 2025, when the facility will be opened for customers seeking a distribution hub to serve the Lyon area. (mk)
