A Chinese healthcare collaboration
Two major Chinese companies are combining healthcare expertise with a strong logistics network in a new strategic cooperation.
The U-Freight Group has been providing logistics services based in Hong Kong since 1968. It is now looking to enter the medical sector by working with Shanghai Hongyu Supply Chain Management, which provides specialist services for China’s healthcare industry.
The aim is to create a one-stop medical supply chain service and expand integrated distribution and fulfilment operations. To this end, the companies will share resources to develop complementary supply chain management networks.
The cooperation coincides with China’s recent focus on its medical and healthcare equipment market. By integrating e-commerce and cross-border operations into their portfolios, the partners are keeping up with current market trends. (mk)
