A change of leadership at Qatar Airways Group
Qatar Airways Group confirms that, after 27 years of service, Qatar Airways group chief executive - his excellency Akbar Al Baker (left) will be stepping down from his current position as group CEO effective 5 November 2023, and will be succeeded by Badr Mohammed Al-Meer (right).
Under Al Baker’s leadership, Qatar Airways has grown to become one of the most recognisable and trusted brands globally, the airline said.
The country’s national carrier achieved an unprecedented seven-time winner of the “World Best Airline” award and its Hamad International Airport, which is under its management and operation, has also been recognised as the World’s Best Airport.
The international air cargo carrier Qatar Airways Cargo is based in Doha, Qatar. It serves a global network of more than 70 freighter and 160 passenger destinations (cj)
