A birthday brand is born

DCT Gdansk has changed its name to Baltic Hub. Celebrating its 15th anniversary this year, the terminal operator underlined that the name change testifies to its ambitions to become the major player hub in the region.

Currently, it is investing heavily in its infrastructure, with its third deep sea terminal to be completed by 2025. Starting with one deep-water quay and a capacity of 500,000 teu in 2007, the terminal now has two deep sea quays that handled about 2.1 million teu in 2021. In total, the Baltic Hub has 1,300 mm of quay, 14 ship-to-shore (STS) cranes and an annual capacity of 2.7 million teu.

As it is also a gateway for further cargo transport to Central and Eastern Europe, Gdansk is planning to increase its rail capacity from currently 750,000 teu to 1 million teu in the near future. (sh)
