800 boxes per month on Southampton -Cardiff route
Freight Systems Express Wales (FSEW) has signed an important new contract with UK-based Freightliner to secure additional capacity on the latter’s regular container rail services. FSEW has already been working with Freightliner, the UK’s largest intermodal freight transporter, since 2006.
The services proved so popular over the last twelve years that, as well as increasing capacity on the Cardiff-Southampton route, FSEW is also able to offer customers railfreight services to Birmingham and Daventry.
By increasing its rail capacity, FSEW is able to transport freight by rail straight out of Southampton port, into and out of South Wales.
This latest agreement will make FSEW Freightliner’s single largest contracted user on the Southampton to Cardiff route, railing, on average, 800 containers a month.(ben)
