75 steps to optimise energy consumption
The price and availability of energy have become major issues in our industry. In view of the ongoing challenges the French company FM Logistic has drawn up an action plan and defined a list of 75 priority measures to optimise energy that it will implement globally. The measures will reduce the energy consumption of the group by 7% per year through to 2030.
In detail the company will build warehouses constructively, including using LEDs , light detectors and photovoltaic systems in six pilot countries (France, Italy, Spain, Brazil, Poland and India).
In Spain, the Illescas site has even been equipped with a plant to produce hydrogen from solar panels to power forklifts and delivery vehicles. This is the first installation of its kind in the country. (cd)
