600 km with next-generation e-truck
As the electrification of heavy trucks continues, transports over longer distances are now becoming possible. Next year, Volvo Trucks will launch its next-generation heavy-duty electric truck which will be able to drive up to 600 km on one single charge.
This will allow transport companies to operate electric trucks on interregional and long-haul routes and to drive a full working day without having to recharge, the manufacturer said.
The extension of the range to 600 km was achieved with a new driveline technology, the so-called e-axle, more efficient batteries, further improvements in the battery management system and an overall efficiency of the powertrain, Volvo added. The new Volvo FH Electric will be released for sale during H2/2025. (ben)
