500 t of flowers for Valentine’s and Mother’s days

Etihad Cargo has reported that it transported over 500 t of fresh flowers from Nairobi to Europe ahead of Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. The carrier operated four flower charters for peak demand and supported weekly exports of around 95 t of flowers from Kenya on passenger and freighter services.

Beyond flowers, Etihad Cargo facilitates the export of perishables, including fruits, vegetables and meat, using cool chain technologies. Its Abu Dhabi hub features temperature-controlled storage and real-time internet of things monitoring.

In 2025 Etihad Cargo will expand its African network with new passenger routes to Algiers, Tunis and El Alamein, increasing bellyhold capacities and strengthening trade links between Africa, the Middle East and Europe. (js)
