40 candles for Astag
The Swiss commercial vehicle association Astag is celebrating its 40th anniversary. Founded in 1979, the association has since campaigned for issues pertaining to the transport of freight and passengers by road in Switzerland.
An official “birthday” celebration took place at the 2019 delegates' meeting in Basel. Guest speaker was the former federal councillor Adolf Ogi. He reviewed the transport policy over the last few decades and praised Astag's consistent and constructive commitment to the country’s transport industry.
With the anniversary slogan "A future with history(s)" - Astag wants to show that the road is – and has been – indispensable for transporting people and freight in the past, at present and in the future. Thanks to the truck, Switzerland receives its supplies and has its waste removed on a reliable daily basis. (mw)
