30% more capacity on Mediterranean route
Kombiverkehr has expanded portfolio on the Mediterranean routes serving Spain by adding a fourth round trip per week and direction on the route between Ludwigshafen (Germany) and Barcelona Morrot (Spain). Alongside tank containers, the newly created capacities should particularly benefit semitrailers.
Assuming a laden weight of 25 m, almost 2 t less CO2 per transport unit will be emitted over the more than 1,200 km of the route – 80% less than with end-to-end road transport.
From Ludwigshafen, the Frankfurt intermodal operator offers onward gateway services to Moerdijk, Scandinavia and the Baltic states in a one-stop shop process. (ben)
