2M leads post-pandemic schedule recovery
Sea-Intelligence has assessed post-pandemic schedule reliability among carrier alliances on the Asia-North Europe trade lane. To do so, the analysts established a baseline at the lowest recorded point during the pandemic (month "0") and tracked subsequent changes.
They found that within two months, the 2M Alliance improved reliability by 20%, ahead of Ocean Alliance and the Alliance. By the seventh month, 2M had nearly recovered 50%, outperforming its competitors significantly.
On Asia-Europe lanes, 2M showed rapid improvements, while recovery on Asia-Mediterranean slowed down. Ocean Alliance improved steadily on Asia-North Europe. The Alliance's recovery was slower on Asia-North Europe but picked up in recent months, while business on the Asia-Mediterranean shipping lanes declined. (pb)
