2M and ZIM trim joint services

The alliance 2M and its cooperation partner, ZIM, are currently readjusting their network. MSC & ZIM have now decided to cease their cooperation on the North Europe – East Med trade. The joint service will end at the end of March 2022. The last vessel of the service will be “MSC Lausannen”, southbound from FLX ETA 7 March and northbound from HFA ETA 29 March.

At the same time, ZIM’ will extend its recently introduced ZMI service, currently connecting the Indian sub-continent and the East Mediterranean, to also serve the East Mediterranean – North Europe trade.

Starting in March 2022, the enhanced ZMI service will include three direct calls in ISC ports; Mundra, Nhava Sheva & Colombo and a direct call to Mersin, amongst others, to connect the Indian sub-continent, Israel, Turkey and North Europe.

This change is not the end of the story, since both partner announced that "future services will be further advised separately by MSC and ZIM in the coming weeks." (sh)
