2,600 wagons to be connected with Nexeed soon

Lineas is digitalising its wagon fleet with Nexeed tracking and tracing capabilities from Bosch Connected Industry. 1,500 wagons are currently being equipped with gateways; they will be connected to the Nexeed tracking and tracing software by the end of this year.

Bosch Connected Industry provides IoT solutions for cross-border online tracking and tracing of wagons. In 2017, the Belgian railfreight operator already equipped 1,100 wagons with Amra boxes from Bosch.

The data generated was used mainly to optimise maintenance work on the wagons; it also enabled Lineas to increase its fleet’s capacity utilisation by more than 40%. (ben)
