25 years of service for Bremen
The Bremen (Germany)-based port services provider Weserport celebrated its first quarter of a century at the beginning of April this year. Weseport was founded in 1995 as a joint venture of the Rhenus Group, Stute Verkehr and the Stahlwerke Bremen.
Today, the company is managed by Rhenus and Arcelor Mittal Bremen. The port logistics provider handled around 195 million t of sea freight over the last 25 years. In Bremen's industrial ports, Weserport runs four terminals on an operating area spanning more than 330,000 sqm.
The terminals have eight cranes in all. At the almost 2 km long quays the provider can process vessels with a draught of up to 10.50 m. Weserport posted a throughput of 7 million t of sea freight at its four terminals in 2019. (mw)
