24th hub in Malaysia
DHL Supply Chain is reaffirming its presence in the Malaysian market by building its first warehouse in Senai, bringing the company’s local portfolio to 246,000 sqm. Dubbed the South Region Hub, DHL’s new site is located just ten minutes away from both the Senai International Airport as well as an expressway.
DHL is investing EUR 5.2 million in the project, which is its 24th facility in Malaysia. It will install solar panels, smart LED lighting and rainwater harvesting infrastructure to turn the hub into a carbon-neutral operation.
Focusing on the Asian, specifically the Malaysian market, the company is planning to invest EUR 131 million in the country over the next four years. After this facility is completed in Q1/2025, three more will follow - two in Penang and one in the central region. (mk)
