2,000 train kilometres in 60 hours
InRail has despatched its first train from Croatia to France. At 2,000 km, it was the longest distance covered by an InRail train so far.
The train loaded with propylene started in Skrljevo (Croatia), travelled through Slovenia, northern Italy, Ventimiglia on the Franco-Italian border and, after a 60 hour journey via Miramas, finally arrived at its destination in Creutzwald on the Franco-German border.
InRail was in charge of the entire operation, deploying its own locomotives and staff and cooperating with Hungarian Railways in Croatia and Captrain and ECR in France. Headquartered in Genoa (Italy), InRail was founded as a private railway company in 2009. (ben)
