175 t giant joins heavy duty fleet
A "world premiere": Austrian company Felbermayr, a specialist for heavy and special transports, recently added a 770 hp Scania 770 S to its fleet, thus relying on the power of the Scania V8 engine to perform the most difficult tasks in the transport industry.
According to the manufacturer, this four-axle vehicle is not only the most powerful series-production truck but also the first heavy-duty tractor unit of the new model now in operation.
With a maximum torque of 3,700 Newton metres, the Scania 770 S A8x4/4NB has a total towing weight of 175 t. Besides the new vehicle, Felbermayr's fleet includes a variety of tractor units with up to four axles and power outputs of up to 800 hp. (ben)
