16.3 million t of air cargo handled in ten years


The Cathay Cargo Terminal (CCT) recently celebrated its tenth anniversary of full operations with a VIP dinner party attended by Algernon Yau as the guest of honour.

 

The secretary for commerce and economic development of the Hong Kong SAR spoke about his time as the CCT's first CEO during its construction and when it opened in 2013 (photo) during his time with the Cathay Group.

 

Key stakeholders from the government, Hong Kong airport authority and logistics industry in Hong Kong were also in attendance, as were forwarders and representatives from the 18 airlines the CCT serves.

 

Over the past ten years, the facility has grown to become one of the world’s major and most advanced terminals, handling over 11 million ULDs for 1.4 million flights and processing 16.3 million t of cargo. (ah)
