100th joint cargo flight of reduced fleet
One year ago, Austrian Airlines built an air bridge between Europe and Asia on behalf of Time Matters, a subsidiary of Lufthansa Cargo, to directly transport urgently needed PPE to Vienna, Frankfurt and Linz. Over 2,000 t of goods could be moved on some 100 flights from Xiamen, Shanghai and Penang (photo).Boeing B767s and B777s with built-in seats were deployed on these flights, as well as B777 ‘preighters’ with temporarily-removed seats.Meanwhile, the airline has found a buyer for the three B767-300ERs (average age 28.5 years) that are for sale, without disclosing the purchase price.Earlier this month, the US company Monocoque Diversified Interests took delivery of the first aircraft and said it was "excited to continue the growth of its passenger and cargo aviation portfolio."
